Pastor Jackson has pastored in the African Methodist Episcopal Church for 34 years. He supplied at Graham AME Church, Greenwood, Delaware (1975) and St. John AME Church, Atlanta, Georgia(1978-79). After graduating from Turner Theological Seminary at ITC, Atlanta, Georgia, he was assigned to St. John AME Church, Jersey City (1979 -1981) and St. Matthew AME Church, Orange, New Jersey, (1981-present). At each church he has made full proof of his ministry, preaching, teaching, growing each congregation, taking special interest in children and youth, becoming a leader and advocate in the community and state, being both priestly and prophetic. During his pastoral ministry:

  • More than 3,000 persons have accepted Christ as Lord or joined the church
  • St. Matthew Church moved from 62nd to 2nd church in New Jersey Conference
  • Budget increased from $50,000 to almost $2,000,000 a year
  • Built two church edifices
  • Church adopted motto, “Servant Church of the Oranges” and developed more than 30 ministries to meet the spiritual, emotional, educational, physical and financial needs of church and community
  • Seven sons and daughters pastoring in First Episcopal District
  • Opened Church Bookstore
  • Founded NIDA (Neighborhood Improvement Development Association), church community development corporation
